Hi!  I'm Kelsey!

Hi, I’m Kelsey! I am one of ROAN’s Therapists.  I just joined the team in November of 2023.  I recently earned my Master of Social Work from Aurora University.  While in my MSW program, I was an intern at a child PHP program and a private practice.  Within my internships, I provided services for clients in low income areas and worked with the LGBTQIA+ population, working directly with clients and doctors to write Hormonal Replacement Therapy (HRT) letters for clients suffering from gender identity/gender dysphoria.

I’m most excited to learn how things work at ROAN.  I’m eager to learn how the organization provides services to clients and families, and how I can be one of the many key players to provide these services.  I come with experience of knowing that, in order for things to work smoothly, you have to be able to communicate with your team.  Part of teamwork is collaboration, communication, working together, and coming together to think about different or unique ideas that are in the best interest for the clients.  With teamwork, you’re never alone. You have people who are there to support you and help guide you as well as you can help guide them.

As a therapist, my goal is to provide a warm welcoming environment for all of my clients and families.  I am passionate about working with children and helping them to regulate their emotions, while navigating through trauma and anxiety by teaching them how to identify strategies and effective coping skills.  My experience goes beyond working with children to adolescents, and adults experiencing negative symptoms associated with anxiety, depression, stress, grief, and relationship issues.  In my work, I use a wide range of therapeutic techniques, including but is not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and play therapy techniques.  I look forward to working with my clients to build a therapeutic relationship where they feel accepted, heard, and encouraged.
