Hi!  I'm Gen!

Hi, I’m Gen!  I am one of ROAN’s Therapists.  I joined the team in January 2024.  Although this is my first professional experience working directly with children and families, I am a nurturing person by nature, which I am hoping will help clients who are looking for support and reassurance.  I take a non-judgemental approach to helping children and families so they can feel at ease.  I am always sure to offer support during sessions, meeting the client where they are, sitting with them in their feelings, and doing the work to get back up.  When things get rough in my own life, I try not to worry about what my plan was, but rather gather as much information as I can and make an adjusted plan – this is something I’m looking forward to doing with my clients.  

 

After graduating with my MA in 2018, I took some time off to take care of my family.  Now that I’m back in the field, I am working towards obtaining my LPC (Licenced Professional Counselor) this Spring and my CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) by the end of the year.  I chose this field of work because I want to help people and make a change in how mental health is viewed.  I love working with people that want to be better for their families, which is why ROAN is a great fit for me.
