Hi! I'm Janetsa!
Hi, I’m Janetsa! I am a therapist at ROAN; I joined the team in June of 2024. I recently earned my Master of Social Work from Aurora University in May 2024. I have been in the social work field since 2021. I strive to create a safe space, where clients feel empowered to explore complex issues.

My background includes working with children, adolescents, and adults. In the last year, I have worked with families in early education and at a Children’s Advocacy Center, where I implemented strength-based approaches in collaboration with my clients to teach them parenting skills and coping skills to improve their well-being. I have experience in using Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I’m passionate about creating meaningful connections and committed to helping my clients navigate turning points in their lives. It is important to me that my clients and I collaborate throughout their therapeutic journey. I encourage you to tell me how you would like me to support you because I am not your voice, rather I am someone who can amplify your voice if you call on me for that. Additionally, another passion of mine is dissolving the mental health stigma in underrepresented communities. The stigma that surrounds these communities impacts individuals willingness and ability to seek mental health services. As someone who is bilingual (English and Spanish), I have had the privilege to be able to provide services to Spanish-speaking families.

I believe we are lifelong learners, and I still have so much to learn! I look forward to learning from you all, and I thank you in advance for giving me the opportunity.

Fun-facts: I stepped out of my comfort zone this year and joined a book club! When I’m not reading, I enjoy listening to podcasts, watching true-crime documentaries, or binge-watching the latest reality TV show.
